    Which goods?
In the warehouses of Medic everything that may be useful to our clients (with the exception of medicines ) may be found: hospital inventory, medical instruments, OR equipment, bandages and suture material, syringes and needles, uniforms, bed- and OR linen, blankets, wheelchairs, equipment for revalidation etc.

We co-operate with sister organisations in those situations where we cannot comply with the requirements.

    Own design
Practice has taught us that there is a great demand for efficient but simple products that require little maintenance and for which spare-parts can easily be obtained.

In close co-operation with experienced surgeons in the field Medic technicians have designed a number of efficient products:

    •
an OR lamp that works on 220 V AC; in case of a power failure it can switch to the 2 built-in batteries. (see picture)
    •
an operating table that can be manually adjusted, a deliverybed with a fixed and a movable part. The designs were tested in practice and the products are made under our own control at a low cost price.
    •
    an external fixation set

When visiting MEDIC FOUNDATION doctors from rural area’s often enquire whether we can supply an OR lamp suitable to be used in the tropics.

In close consultation with experienced surgeons the demands for the MEDIC OR lamp were assessed: the lamp should

    a.
be movable; does not require much maintenance
    b.
be able to work on 220 Volt AC and 24 Volt DC
    c.

still be able to work for some hours in case of a 220V power failure

    d.
    have adjustable beams
    e. have parts that can be bought locally

This was a challenge to our technicians and they succeeded in designing a lamp that complies with the abovementioned requirements.

The adjustable lampcross consists of 4 beam units with halogen (car-)lightbulbs of 24 VoltDC/ 70 Watt.

The 4 lights can work continuously on 220 Volt AC through the transformer that simultaneously acts as a battery charger for the 2 back up batteries.

A generator supplying 24V DC may also be used. In case of a power failure the fully charged batteries will supply sufficient energy to work with the 4 beams for approximately 2 ours on 24Volt DC

The MEDIC 4-BEAM lampcross can be used in vertical or horizontal position and adjustments can easily be made.

Due to the 3 castors the MEDIC 4-BEAM LAMP can be manoeuvred into the required position.

The MEDIC 4-BEAM LAMP is supplied with spare lamps and is packed in a case of 60 x 60 x 120 cm, weighing approximately 100 Kg.

    Medic external fixation set

    Description:
The set is to be applied by drilling two or more pins at both sides and with some distance of the fracture. The pins are to be connected and solidly fixated by a bridging bar in order to stabilize the reposition.

By this procedure contamination of the fracture is prevented, this being is a nasty complication of internal fixation with plates and screws.

External fixation is also a safe method to reduce compound or infected fractures and in temporary fixation of joints.
